Class C was closeley fought, the lead changed nearly every lap but ended in the order Mark Lucock, Dave Nixon, Steve Primett.

This was a two day event with Qualifying on Saturday and the race on Sunday. Not a great format for competitors and hardly contusive to low cost motorsport! Neil qualified  well but his two class competitors weren't much slower and were only a row behind on the grid.

Come the race Neil got away from his fifth row position but got boxed in on the first straight and Ian Clark nosed ahead before Neil got ahead again. After this Neil slowly pulled ahead and started a battle with John Wright's Escort before deciding to play safe, go for class honours and let him go.

Neil was eight seconds ahead of Ian when Ian spun at Sear about half way through the race, opening the gap to nearly 20 seconds which he held on to for the rest of the race.

Neil's other class rival was Roger Bowman in his MK1 Jaguar. This started from the pit lane when oil started to leak from under the car in the collecting area. Roger slowly made his way through the field to finish 9th behind Ian Clark.

Up in front there was an initial battle between David Howard and Jim Utting (Mustang) until the big Ford retired on lap 5.

Behind there was a real ding dong between Dave Nixon (Mazda RX3, Mark Lucock (Escort) and last years champion Stephen Primett (Escort). The lead changed very nearly every lap but at the end it finished Lucock - Nixon - Primett.

This puts Neil in the lead of the championship as Steven Young didn't finish after his brake discs disintegrated.
