Obituary - John Temple

The Dellow Register has been saddened by the sudden death of John Temple, their General Secretary and Co-Founder, who had given the Register such enthusiastic support over the past thirty three years. John was just twenty-one when he met up with fellow Dellow owner Mark Hayward to form the Register and to find out information about the cars they owned. They both wanted to know more about the marque's history and to try to find out how many had survived.

The Register now has well over one hundred members, quite a feat for a car with such a small production run made over fifty years ago. The Register, having traced the original factory records has discovered that the original company, Dellow Motors Ltd. At Alvechurch produced almost two hundred and fifty cars between 1947 and 1956. Since its foundation, the Dellow Register has traced nearly two hundred surviving examples of these.

In addition to being Treasurer and Membership Secretary, I have taken the role of Secretary at least until our next agm.  I was working on a website with John which we had just published and were de-bugging. You can find it on www.dellowregister.co.uk It is still under construction but I guess it always will be.
